For the Inaugural Lecture of the CityU Sustainability Lecture Series, Dr David Suzuki will be speaking on “Setting the Bottom Line for the Planet’s Future“. Presented by the Department of Asian and International Studies, the lecture will be held at 4:00 to 5:15 pm on 3rd March at City University of Hong Kong.
Dr David Suzuki is a scientist, broadcaster, author, and co-founder of the David Suzuki Foundation. Among numerous other achievements, Dr David Suzuki is Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and holds 29 honorary degrees from universities around the world. He is also the recipient of UNESCO’s Kalinga Prize for science, the United Nations Environment Program medal.

March 15 2017 – “Forum on Reducing Humanity’s Water Footprint: Challenges from a Global Perspective” – Professor Arjen Y. Hoekstra
Professor Arjen Y. Hoekstra, the creator of the water footprint concept and founder of the Water Footprint Network, will be speaking at the ”Forum on Reducing Humanity’s Water Footprint: Challenges from a Global Perspective”, hosted by the JC-WISE initiative. The forum will be held at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) on 15th March between 2:30 and 5:00pm.
Professor Hoekstra will share his personal journey of discovery, exploration and application of the notion of water footprint. He will also discuss how this concept offers us a global perspective to understand the complex economy of water consumption, water shortages and pollution.
